About Us

Our Business

Clean Energy Distribution is a small scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sales and distribution business in Australia. We supply LNG to industrial and mining businesses in Victoria. The LNG is transported by road in insulated tankers and delivered into CED's on-site customer storage vessels. The LNG is regasified by a natural warming of the liquid in specialised ambient temperature vapourisers. The resulting gas is used as a cleaner fuel for power generation, heating, drying, smelting and other manufacturing operations.

Background

Clean Energy Distribution was formed as a joint venture between a group of experienced Australian energy industry professionals and a Cryogenic equipment manufacturer. CED is based in Melbourne and Perth and is proudly Australian owned and run.

Purpose

Clean Energy Distribution deliver the wide ranging environmental and economic benefits of LNG to Australian businesses. Our focus is on displacing diesel with LNG, a cleaner, greener and lower cost to alternative and we are dedicated to delivering financial benefits not just environmental benefits. We know that environmental improvements only really work if they also make financial sense.

Vision

Our vision is to help Australian companies reduce their reliance on imported diesel and utilise the abundant existing Natural Gas resources available in our country, increasing Australia's energy supply security.

Clean Energy Distribution are working towards an Australia wide integrated LNG production and distribution network that can efficiently supply the burgeoning Remote Power Generation, Mining, Industrial, HDV, Maine and Locomotive LNG markets.

Safety and quality are valued very highly and we always deliver value for money to our customers. We develop open and honest relationships with our customers, we are flexible, responsive, motivated and professional.

Safety

LNG is neither flammable nor explosive in its liquid state. LNG vapour is only flammable within a range of 5-15% mixture in air. LNG vapour is lighter than air so rapidly disperses beyond this range.

LNG is stored at around -130 to -163 degrees Celsius and so special care has to be taken when handling the extremely cold liquid.

Quality

The LNG we supply is almost 100% pure Methane (CH4) and is the closest commercial fuel to pure Hydrogen.

Our LNG is produced from Australian natural gas in state-of-the-art production facilities in Dandenong, Victoria and transported in specially designed cryogenic tankers to our customers across the East Coast of Australia.

Environmental

LNG produces significantly lower levels of CO2, NOx and SOx emissions as well as almost no particulates compared to traditional fuels such as diesel. LNG engines are also significantly quieter than their diesel equivalents.

If spilled LNG will float on water (no damage to marine life), and has no long term effect on land. It will quickly evaporate and disperse into the atmosphere.
